Starting with 2025 American Community Survey, the Census Bureau plans to publish data according to a grid, in addition to existing geographies we’re already familiar with. Grids are geographic units of a regular pattern that cover the entire nation without gaps or overlaps. Grids are uniform, consistent, and unchanging from decade to decade.
