Nonresident fees, with the exception of branch offices, are double the fees listed above.


Requirements

A collection agency operator must be at least 19 years of age, a high school graduate, or equivalent, be of good moral character (not be convicted of a felony, larceny, embezzlement, be a disbarred attorney, or have filed bankruptcy), and undergo fingerprint screening. An agency license requires a $5,000 bond, a trust account, and a licensed operator to oversee operations of the agency. A branch must also have a licensed operator assigned to it.
